ARCHIVED - August 19 Free guided hike to the Sierra de las Moreras and the coves of Bolnuevo in Mazarrón
A testing 11-kilometre hike along the wild and unspoilt coastline of Bolnuevo
This guided walk takes place in Bolnuevo, where the built-up area of Puerto de Mazarrón gives way to the unspoilt, rugged Mediterranean coastline and a series of secluded coves below the steep cliffs.
Among the beaches visited are Cueva Lobos and Cala Amarilla, before walkers reach the Playa del Hondón and take a well-deserved 20-minute rest, and perhaps a dip in the sea. In total the distance covered is around 11 kilometres and the route is classified as being of medium difficulty, with 250 metres of climbs and descents. It is scheduled to take approximately 3 hours.
The hike begins at 18.00 and registration is available online here or here or through the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com). The registration period opens a week before the event and ends at 13.30 the day prior to it taking place.
The wearing of facemasks, caps and sun cream is strongly recommended and participants should bring drinking water and wear appropriate footwear. Those registering must give ID details, and under no circumstances may people join without prior registration.
