The municipality of Los Alcázares in Murcia has arranged a wide variety of activities for their yearly celebrations
The Town Hall in Los Alcázares has announced their programme for the yearly ‘Festividad del Caldero’ with several concerts, sporting contests and other activities for all ages planned from October 8 to October 17.
Although this year the traditional Caldero party on the beach will not be taking place due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are still plenty of other things to look forward to, including gastronomic experiences, windsurfing competitions and more:
Friday October 8
- Open-air ‘Mar Menor’ Photography Exhibition: all day on Playa Carrión.
- Childrens’ rides and attractions: all day on Paseo de la Feria and surrounding areas.
- Cultural guided trip to Lorca in honour of Third Age Day: for more information call 669 565 778 or contact the department for the Elderly, department of Festivities. Limited spaces available.
- XXII Surfari Mar Menor. Spanish Windsurfing Championship: from 10am to 6.30pm on Playa Carrión and Playa de la Concha.
- ‘Class finn’ World Sailing Championship: 11.30am on Playa Las Palmeras.
- Official inauguration of the Los Alcázares Fiestas, with a speech from the Mayor and a concert (500 noches ‘Sabina en las venas’ tribute to Joaquín Sabina), starting from 10pm. Limited capacity.
Saturday October 9
- Open-air ‘Mar Menor’ Photography Exhibition: all day on Playa Carrión.
- Childrens’ rides and attractions: all day on Paseo de la Feria and surrounding areas.
- Cultural Tourist Route on the Tourist Train: leaves at 10am from the Los Alcázares Town Hall. Trip lasts for 90 minutes. To sign up visit the Murcia Tourism website.

- Ludo and Domino Tournament: 2pm to 6pm at the ‘Adolfo López’ Third Age Centre.
- Prize giving ceremony for the Ludo and Domino Tournament followed by ‘Acompañame otra vez’ performance: from 10pm at the Town Hall square.

Tuesday October 12

- Childrens’ rides and attractions: all day on Paseo de la Feria and surrounding areas.

- ‘Class finn’ World Sailing Championship: 11.30am on Playa Las Palmeras.
- Travelling brass band and parade: travelling throughout the municipality in the morning and in the afternoon.
Wednesday October 13

- Childrens’ rides and attractions: all day on Paseo de la Feria and surrounding areas.
- Boat ride in the Mar Menor: leaving at 11am from La Pescadería. Boat ride takes around 60 minutes. To sign up visit the Murcia Turistica website.

- ‘Class finn’ World Sailing Championship: 11.30am on Playa Las Palmeras.

- ‘Premio Alkazar’ Institutional Act: ‘Sol y Sal’ performed by Nunatak at 9pm at the Town Hall square. Limited capacity.
