ARCHIVED - Almoradi Christmas Fair: December 16-18
The town in the Vega Baja region of Alicante province is staging three days of festivities for all the family
The countdown to Almoradí's 12th Christmas Fair is on with the final preparations well underway.
From December 16 to 18, Plaza de la Constitución, will be transformed into a magical wonderland with dozens of stalls offering sweets, handmade gifts, jewellery, locally produced products and much more, thanks to the collaboration of associations such as the ADA Occupational Centre, Teactiva, Alma Peluda, Adis Vega Baja and AADEM Vega Baja.
There will also be a food court and tastings organised by the Peña Huertana 'Los Santicos de la Piedra'.
"This will be a magical three-day event during which there will also be children's workshops, shows for all the family and live music," added Councillor for Development, Carmen Berná.
As is tradition in Almoradí, Santa Claus will visit the XII Christmas Fair in a colourful parade with surprises for the youngsters on Friday December 16 following the inauguration of the Municipal Nativity Scene at 6pm.
On Saturday and Sunday, the workshops, tastings and concerts will take place in Plaza de la Constitución from 10am to 9pm.
And in a first for Almoradí, the Town Hall has organised a 'Children's Cotillion' on December 31 from 11am onwards, where youngsters can enjoy the celebration of the church chimes followed by a big party, music and dance in Plaza de la Constitución.
Finally, the Three King's Parade will take place on January 5 at 6.30pm, starting at the Teatro Cortés and making its way to the Plaza de la Constitución where Their Majesties will hand out gifts to the children.
