ARCHIVED - Aguilas park disabled swing vandalised - yet again
The swing for children with disabilities in the Plaza Montcada i Reixac has again been vandalised
Once again, the specially adapted swing for disabled children in the park located in Montcada i Reixac square in Águilas has been vandalised.
Águilas’s Councillor for Green Zones, Bartolomé Hernández, has deplored the new act of vandalism, pointing out that “in less than a month, this swing has been the object of repeated acts of vandalism, causing intentional damage to the property of all Águilas residents.
“Furthermore,” he continued, “the replacement of the swing, which was completely destroyed intentionally, has cost the municipal coffers 1,300 euros as all the steel cables were cut, leaving it completely unusable.”
The last time this happened was back in September, and in that case it cost 1,821 euros to replace the swing.
Once again, Councillor Hernández has appealed to the public to respect the street furniture and not to commit this type of uncivic acts. “It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our parks in a good state of conservation,” he concluded.
