ARCHIVED - 25 gardening plots up for grabs in Los Alcazares
Residents in the municipality of Los Alcázares could be given the chance to use urban allotments
The Town Hall in Los Alcázares is offering residents the chance to use one of 25 urban gardening plots, located between Avenida Cartagena and Calle Penélope.
The purpose of the initiative is to encourage all members of the population to participate in gardening activities, including growing fresh fruits and vegetables.
Residents who have been registered as living in Los Alcázares for over a year and who are over the age of 18 can apply for one of the allotment plots, which will be assigned for a period of two years, after which a one-year extension can be requested.
Seven of the gardening plots are reserved for retired residents or over 65s while the rest of the plots are to be divided amongst socially vulnerable groups (13), organisations (2) and the general population (3).
The application period for the urban gardens is open for ten days starting on October 18 and the corresponding form must be completed and presented at the Town Hall before the end of the ten-day period.
