ARCHIVED - 24-year-old man with stab wounds found on the roadside in Orihuela
The injured man was calling for help on the side of the CV-941 in the Vega Baja area of Alicante province
Police in Orihuela are hunting for a black SUV after a 24-year-old man was found on the side of the road with a stab wound and several cuts claiming he had been robbed.
Local Police discovered the injured man on a stretch of the CV-941 at around 11.20pm on Thursday evening, June 16. The victim was conscious and standing but had a stab wound to his right side and several cuts to his face.
Whilst waiting for emergency medical services to arrive, the man told officers that four men in a black SUV had stabbed him and stolen all of his belongings, without giving further details only to say he didn't know his alleged attackers.
Two ambulances attended the scene and after initial treatment transferred him to the University Hospital of Torrevieja. The investigation is ongoing.
