ARCHIVED - 14th to 22nd May Murcia Tres Culturas music and culture festival in the regional capital
The Jewish, Christian and Islamic roots of Murcia culture at the 21st Tres Culturas festival
After the hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic last year the Murcia Tres Culturas returns to the regional capital for its 21st edition between 14th and 22nd May, featuring a series of concerts and other events commemorating the multi-cultural roots of the city during the Middle Ages.
In the past the Tres Culturas program has featured artists from many different countries representing Jewish, Islamic and Christian cultures, but on this occasion the performers are far more home-grown due to the limited amount of international travel at present: those who are of Greek, Moroccan and other nationalities are resident in Spain.
Nonetheless, a total of 12 music and dance events are being held at various venues in and around the city of Murcia, along with audiovisual displays, an exhibition and even children’s theatre at the Molinos del Río venue alongside the river on 22nd May at midday.
The full program in Spanish can be viewed here, and entry to the events is free of charge although limits will be imposed on the numbers of spectators permitted, and social distancing must be observed.
