First up was a fisherman with a broken leg who had fallen on the rocks in the “Cap prim” area of Cala Portixol. The firemen from the Benissa park answered the call, but access to the site of the accident was difficult and in the end a helicopter was called to airlift the patient off the rocks.
Second in line was a rescue in the sierra de Bernia, where a walker had suffered a fall and again required airlifting from the accident location. In this case, fog made this a complicated rescue.
Then for the third time in a day the helicopter was called in to rescue two climbers in the Sierra de Orihuela. Two people who were climbing in the sierra area in the Rincón de Bonanza, in Orihuela, when one climber lost his footing and fell onto the other, dislodging both from the rockface. The climbers were airlifted and transferred to the Vega Baja Hospital.
