Another weekend of pandemic restrictions brought another rash of fines for rulebreakers in the province of Alicante, as the Policía Local in the city gave out a total of 105 fines for disobeying the current anti-Cvid measures as well as breaking up 12 different parties in private homes on Saturday night alone.
For the fourth weekend in a row several police roadblocks took place across the region of Valencia to enforce the perimetral closure of municipalities with over 50,000 inhabitants, and this weekend 4,084 vehicles were stopped by the police, who gave out 60 fines to people who had no valid reason to be entering or leaving their municipality.
In addition, from 10 pm until 3.30 am on Saturday night police received complaints from neighbours and broke up 12 parties in homes where more than two people from different households were gathered without wearing face masks. According to the current measures, in private and public spaces, both indoors and outdoors, only social gatherings of people who belong to the same household or a maximum of two people from different households are allowed.
However, this could possibly be the last week with such strict restrictions in place, as the regional government is rumoured to be lifting some of the rules next week after 1st March, beginning the de-escalation of anti-covid measures.
